A Hoosier Baby Christmas

Owen found time to watch some college football bowl games while on Christmas vacation at Grandma and Grandpa's house.
We took a trip up the road one very cold New Year's Eve night to visit Todd, Kami, Megan and Adam.

Riding one of the largest of Grandma's thousands of giraffes.

The magical swing. Grandpa gave the gift of naps. A few minutes in the swing and Zzzzz's were soon to follow.

Owen received some pretty cute presents. Clothing, toys, books and even a poster that appeared on The Today Show signed by Al Roker. Thanks to everyone, Florida and Indiana families, for the wonderful gifts.

Look guys, I'm sitting up all by myself!

Sarrah really loves me! She brought back the signed Al Roker poster from NJ and picked my boogies so I could breathe.

At Poppy and Car-Car's house looking stunned by all the holiday fun.

Karen has quite the knack for soothing fussy babies...Avery and Owen are no match for her.

Burls, Owen and I recently returned from our trip to Columbus, IN to meet Dada's side of the family. Before leaving to go up North, we had a very warm Christmas in Florida with Poppy and Car-Car, the Carter family and the Hall family. While in Indiana we saw some snow flurries, played some new games (Bananagrams and Racko), and watched Owen have a first, sitting up on his own..for a few seconds.

Four Months Old on Christmas!

Owen turned 4 months on Christmas Day. He is a big boy, measuring in at 18 pounds and 25.5 inches long. He's already practicing his linebacker stance, smack talking, and game-face!

We spent Christmas Day at Poppy and Car-Car's house. Jason, Jenny, Harrison, and Avery were also there. Fun was had by all. (More pictures coming soon of Christmas and our trip to Indiana)

Rolling Right Along!

It's a good thing Owen has multiple elbows. Look at how they support him while holding up his head!

Owen surprised us yesterday by rolling from his tummy onto his back! Maybe the baby gym workouts we've been giving him are working. He's able to flip from back to tummy and from tummy to back! Woo-hoo.

Owen is 3 months old!

Owen's three month growth numbers are: Height = 25 1/4 inches and Weight 15 1/2 pounds. (These stats were measured by Mommy and Daddy so they might be a tad bit off). Wow what a BIG boy! While Mommy and Daddy were watching the Gators in Gainesville, Owen stayed with Poppy and Car-Car. He put on a show by rolling from his back to his tummy for the first time. He proved it for us the next day.
Our little baby boy has picked up some new tricks this month. He can roll from his back to his tummy! He is also able to suck his thumb...well most of the time it's his whole fist. Owen also talks nonstop in the morning, he must be telling some good jokes because he smiles pretty often now too.

From FL, to GA, to CA and back again!

Fun, fun, fun. Forty degrees, steep hills, carting 14 pounds of baby Owen. Still wouldn't have missed crooked Lombard street.
Mr. and Mrs. William Burr Eschen

The pole barn. Where lots of great eating, partying, and for the babies, sleeping took place.

Here's Will (with Dad, the best man) holding back tears as Megan begins her way down the aisle.

Owen hopped into bed with Mommy and Daddy one cold morning in Solvang.

The Firestone Winery site the night of the rehearsal dinner.

Before traveling onward to Solvang, we wanted to see some of the famous sites. Here we are with The Golden Gate Bridge in the distance.

The Grimes, Carters and Eschens set sail on our first night in San Francisco. The sea lions at Pier 39 welcomed us with a chorus of "barks" and a lovely odor.

Baby Owen is two months old now!

Grandma and Grandpa Grimes are so wonderful to me! They drove all the way from Columbus for a two night/three day stay with us. Owen received not only the wonderful gift of time spent with them, but some wonderful toys, clothes, and a very special teddy bear made from one of his Dada's old Butler Athletic Training shirts. We'll have to include it in next month's milestone photo. Wish you could have stayed longer...can't wait to see everyone at Christmas.
We've begun to take weekend strolls by the lakes in Inverness. The Rails to Trails provides Mommy and Dada with some exercise and Owen with wonderful sights, sounds and sometimes restful naps too.

Move over Baby Baloo, my fat rolls need more room now.

This weekend Car-Car hosted a baby shower for Owen and I while Poppy and Burls attended the Kentucky vs. Gator game. (Kentucky got blasted by the way...hee hee).

Today, Oct. 27th, Owen had his two month check-up. Here's his latest stats:
Weight = 13 lbs 14 oz (90% percentile) and Length = 23 3/4 inches (75% percentile). Owen was such a champ upon receiving his shots too. He decided to take a 3 hour nap instead of crying for his ouchies. We love him so much!!!

Football Woes and Owen's Bros

Our six week old bouncing baby boy! He loves his Winnie the Pooh bouncy chair and smiles in it quite often now. Check out those cheeks...not to mention those chubby arms and legs.
Grandma and Grandpa Grimes sent Owen an awesome Cubs onesie. Too bad the Cubs didn't show up to play in the playoffs! (The whole Grimes family was sick over that one). We will still wear it with pride. After all they are the Cubbies.

Here's some of Owen's pals, Theo on the left, Owen and Austin. These sweet baby boys are about two months older than me ...and awake.

Here's Owen giving Dada some words of advice about the game of football.

Burls has not had it too easy lately on Friday nights. The Lecanto Panthers have been riddled with injuries from their opponents so Coach Grimes has visited the ER on several occasions. He is such a trooper! Owen and I miss him when he's gone, but we know he offers his team excellent care and support. On a happier note, Owen has been out socializing and making friends at our Mommy and Me playtime get togethers.
